We often have fun trolling eBay to see what surfaces. P.T. Barnum would be proud of an eBay seller with the id jillsheffler. This eBay and golf book novice attempted to sell a signed copy of Ben Hogan’s 1948 First Edition Power Golf for $500,000.
To add insult to injury, she? charges an additional $100 for shipping. Well, I suppose for such a valuable item, it should cost a lot to ship.
For the record, copies of Power Golf signed by Hogan sell in the range of $300-$500 at auction. Perhaps she meant to list it at $500 and by mistake hit too many keys? Or perhaps, she’s looking for that rare sucker that Barnum spoke about to take this off her hands. On the bright side, anyone who bought the book could have put it on their eBay Mastercard and pay no interest until January 2009.
